In the summer of 2010, the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) will host the Excellence in Civil Engineering Education Teaching Workshop for civil engineering educators. ASCE has successfully presented this workshop each summer for the past eleven years. Faculty members across the country and around the world have benefited from this workshop. The ExCEEd Teaching Workshop is a six-day practicum that provides engineering educators with an opportunity to improve their teaching abilities. The workshop focuses on basic skills and includes seminars addressing the following topics:
Applicants who are accepted to an ASCE ExCEEd Teaching Workshop will be named "ExCEEd 2010 Teaching Fellows." The entire workshop registration fee is $425.* *The workshop costs $2,500 per participant to conduct. ASCE is investing $2,075 in each participant as a fellowship.
